Hello all! Finishing up my open water dives next week and looking forward to getting out there.

I’m based in Las Vegas, so I’m planning on doing many CA dives, and hoping to hit up Catalina soon. Any divers out there in Vegas?

Headed to Cancun with my wife in October and hoping to do some warmer-water dives while there as well.

Excited to join the world of scuba!

Welcome! Catalina has some great diving, and the staircase entry at Casino Point makes things easy especially when you're new. I've had nothing but good experiences with Catalina Diver's Supply; they do an equipment rental and guided dive package that's reasonably-priced, and the guides I've had so far have all been instructors with many years of experience who have given me some good pointers.

Where are you doing your certification? I'm not really a Vegas person but I find myself there every few years for one reason or another, and I'll be there over Memorial Day. I'm doing the absurdly expensive aquarium dive at Mandalay Bay because damnit, some part of this trip needs to be about me! But if there's another place to dive around there I'll bookmark it for the next time I get roped into going. ;-)

Hello. Plan on diving in Lake Mead (anything to see there)? Our LDS mgr. moved here from Las Vegas. That must've been quite a change.

Welcome to ScubaBoard lonesomejack. Good luck on your OW day.
