New diver in Salt Lake City here. Actually, I'm only half way through my OW certification. I just finished my course work and confined water dives yesterday. I am heading up to the Heber crater this Saturday and Sunday for the final tests.

I am getting my PADI cert through Scuba Utah, the instructor has been great. I am so glad I decided not to do the online course. The instructor and the three other dive masters in class were all very informative and helpful.

Sweet, another SLC'er. You will enjoy the Homestead Crater dive, I did all my certs there with SLCC. If your instructor lets you wander away from the squares go to the metal platform on the east wall at 25ft and try to find a giant plastic turtle. That turtle was my deep dive cert, I had to rescue it.

What is your Instructor's last name by chance?

I did indeed see the turtle and the alligator! My instructor's last name is Weber. Great guy. Excellent instructor.
