Lighter (be careful!)
pet beaver (be very careful!)

I actually live about 30-40 minutes from Halcyon. I've got a buddy who works for a materials company that's always delivering short steel pins to them. I mentioned that Halcyon was good but that the price was alot higher for a little bit better product. He relayed my thoughts to the guy in receiving there and I'm told he laught and said "Yeah, we build the best and you gotta pay for it." This buddy of mine says they are actually a nice place to deliver to, they have free candy by the front desk.

So now we know why Halcyon costs so much: they are hooking their delivery drivers up with free candy!

lol, what a concept----did they come up with that themselves?

Plasma torch... if none available try a set of dykes

Dremel should work.
I'll google that. I know what a hex bolt is, btw.

I really appreciate the help, but you all give me way too much credit. (Can I cut the corregated tubing?) ...with poultry scissors?

Better to go to plan B: Find a man.

If you bought one of those Kiss Rebreathers, you wouldn't have this problem!!!

If you go with the plasma torch, you need to wear gloves and a welder helmet. Move the can of gasoline out of the way, too. Keep it on "Stun" setting.

You could also soak that Halcyon inflator in water...that will disolve it! ;)

I've been soaking it in toilet bowl cleaner, (the SS part thats not so stainless), for a couple years and the o rings are still fine. It fixes it for about three dives and then the corrosion builds up again. Silicone helps too, but I am hoping to just get on with my life.

Blow torches are a little past my skill set.

Halcyon did not charge me a penny, btw, and the Eclypse is at least six years old.

Okay, I confess, I have the same set up. The inflator seems to be the Achilles heel of a very good rig. I opened my inflator up awhile back and it was rusty inside...after having it for about two months...and I am a diligent gear rinser! I also get an occasional stream of small bubbles coming from between the hose and inflator...not significant...but for the money; annoying! Disconnecting it and re-connecting it underwater makes it stop most of the time.

Not sure I can mentally make the switch to toilet bowl cleaner. Besides, I have to believe there are more corrosive agents in the water off Laguna!

How's JB?

He is hangin in in Fallujah for two more months. Thanks for asking...they just got some M-RAP Cougars so that makes my day a little brighter.

So....how old is your BC? Do you have the part plastic inflator? ...like my new one in the picture?

Time to retire all but the backplate, seriously. I would never use a rig for longer than three years or 300 dives, no matter the brand.

You are joking aren't you? Three years? That's just enough time to get comfy with it! Properly maintained equipment can last indefinitely.
