i am a new guy to the board and to the world of diving. i got my open water certification on january 19, and hopefully after my dive next weekend i will have my advanced open water, the week after that i plan on starting my rescue diver course.

anyways i stumbled onto the board and saw some pretty cool stuff so i figured i would sign up. hoping to learn more about diving, gear, and make some new dive buddies. hope to make lots of new dive buddies all over the country and world. happy diving all.

I learned to dive in Hawaii when I was stationed with the 25th in (get this) 1975-1978. Got spoiled diving the clear water of Hawaii, and when I moved to my next duty station in Georgia, I QUIT because the nearest clean water was clear over at the coast....

I'd like to get back to Hawaii for a vacation and to do a little diving and see the place again....

Welcome again!

hi and welcome aboard! lots of people from Hawaii on this board, you're bound to feel at home

:balsmilie

hey guys thanks for the welcome, I feel super welcomed already, just like Hawaii. I must say the diving community is a pretty good community, so many helpful people and even if they disagree they are all pretty cool about it. Anyways all thanks for the welcome see ya'all down below, happy sinking, oh yeah by the way tom are you still diving? It must be a pain in the you know where to dive in cold Michigan.

Ok, 1) Welcome to the board!
2) I'm jealous that you're in Hawaii
3) Your course schedule seems pretty ambitious. But, if you feel that you can handle the load, more power to you. Good luck!

And welcome to SB. :wavey: Put us in your Favorites and check in often.

We've got lots of cool forums, and more being announced. PM me if you need help getting around, the tools, etc - I've got most of it figured out.

You sure you want to rush into your Rescue course already? There's a lot to be said for experience, too.

There is something definately said for experience. I am diving about two to four times a week, sometimes more. I have been certified for about a month and i already have almost twenty dives, which if I keep this pace up. Experience well will take care of itself I think. My instructor was quite surprised when he realized how many dives I had, he said I have more dives in a month than most guys have all year in the mainland. So yes I am very lucky to live in Hawaii. As for getting things figured out, this all seems pretty easy, the only thing I haven't been able to do that I want to on the board is check out the picture galleries. so any suggestions on that would be cool, i've read the thread that talked about what to do and nothing really seems to help so ya know.
