I highly doubt that the SR1 is the same design as the Genesis D.A.D. 1st stage. My understanding is that the SR1 is very much in the mold of the atomic and late SP balanced piston 1st stages. (It sure looks like an atomic 1st stage) These are flow-through pistons, balanced by design and capable of very high flow and IP stability. The genesis is a flow-by piston with a seat on the end of the piston, much like the SP MK2, but with a floating orifice that compensates for downstream supply pressure. It's also a proven design, but not capable of anywhere near the type of flow that the SP and atomic BP design is. The older sherwoods are like the genesis, in fact they're so similar that it's not surprising that the companies are connected.
Take a look at the sr1 first stage and the gs2000 first stage, they look pretty much the same, on one the brush metal the other is polish. The inners are modified, but the from the outside they are almost identical. Just take a look at the 1st stage between the two. There are difference, but there is alot of similarity. After all they are the same company
