Mo2vation:
First of all, hi Jan - and welcome to the board.

You're gonna love it here. However, in order to effectively communicate, we need to be sure we're speaking the same language. I could be wrong on this, but it looks like you're from OCal, but you consider yourself a So Cal.

That's akin to people from Jersey saying they're New Yorkers. Its not just another state, its another planet.

I've provided a couple of geography lessons to help clear things up. The original context was attempting to help a former NoCal with his acclimation to his new home in So Cal - but you'll get the idea. I hope this will assist in translating OCal into legitimate So Cal vernacular.

Again, welcome and have fun on the largest and most prestigeous Scuba Board on the web.

K

Hello there and thanks for the wecome!

Okay, you have me! What in the shell is O Cal??? No where in my post did I type in O Cal??? I am confused. I believe most people from So Cal (Southern California) know the abbrev. of So Cal. Or should I have said that I am an 'OC' Gal??? To be more specific of location? However, there is also an 'OC' in Florida too! HA!

Anyway, I think it will be fun here regardless.

Diver_Jan an 'OC' Gal for SoCAL LOL

Okay, Ken!
This IS Southern California! Enough of your L.A. elitism thing
SOCAL SOCAL SOCAL I refuse to recognize your delineations. Grew up in San Diego and now I live in O.C. I am further south than you!!!!! :blahblah: New Jersey/New York????!!!!! C'mon bra, this is So Cal! Orange County is no longer part of LA and we have moved beyond, you need to too :nonono:
Cajan, don't listen to Ken's twisted geography of whimsy! His compass is off on this one!
See you in on Saturday in Avalon, Ken?
P.S.: Brian Wilson never surfed so his opinion on the matter accounts for squat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay Robert, maybe Ken was diving at the Rigs where compasses don't work!!! Could be the reason for being off course. LOL

I got your note about being at the Green Pier. I think I am assigned the Green Pier as well. So........we just might bump into each other. Look for the spunky one with red hair! It so happens to be my birthday that weekend, so I am going to live it up!!! Whoooo hooooooooo!!! I will be there Friday through Sunday. Hope to see you there!

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

Although I do not agree with Ken's shunning of Orange County and his geographic delineations, they are funny to read! (To those of us here in So Cal who know what he is referring to, anyway!) You'll find he lends a humorous perspective to lots of topics!

See you in Avalon!

Hey Deb

Thanks for the welcome!!! I am beginning to see alot of familiar names and faces! Too Cool!!!!

I can't wait for Avalon!!! I am heading over Friday am, around 9ish. Leaving Sunday afternoon around 4 or so. Let's see....how many dives can a diver dive??? ROTFLOL I plan on night diving Friday and Saturday night as well. I hear night diving at Casino Point is really cool and I am looking forward to it. I have my digital camera already to go!

Let's for sure meet up!!! I just posted to Robert that it's my birthday, so maybe we can all meet up for some fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll actually be diving from Step Beach, but we'll be nieghbors. Check over in the California Kelp Divers section for a couple of threads about the clean up.
See you on Saturday. Happy birthday!

Wow, I just realized this was post #100 for me!

Diver_Jan:
