Greetings,

Diver from WA, Australia.

I have read through a lot of postings, but am still in two minds...

Am looking at getting a new Go Pro and one use would be for diving. While the majority of my dives will be during the day, I also love night diving and hence would need lights etc at some stage.

Personally, would love the Hero 3+, but of course the $$ is a concern. For diving I know the main benefit is the low light ability, but would a red filter etc fix this for day time dives? Do most out there go for the Black? Or are there a few divers with White / Silver? I have read on Hero 3+ having problems with filter compatibility?

Also, what is the minimum for me as a starter? So many options out there can some recommend a good start setup for me? Maybe just filters etc not so much lights yet.

Majority of diving is only down to 30m.

Thanks heaps for your help!

I just got certified at a spring in Florida and on my first dive out of certification (an hour and a half after I was certified) I took my GoPro down for a little filming just to remember the occasion. I use a GoPro 3+ Silver addition that works great. I also have the polar pro filter for deeper depths.

I have a Go-Pro Black (not the plus), and use a red filter for deeper dives - it works well.
