Hi all,

My wife and I recently went on a "Discover Scuba" course down in Cozumel that involved a class in the pool and 2 OW dives. I've since become completely obsessed with it. As in, keeping me up at night thinking about it obsessed. Being from Ohio, I thought I was going to have to relegate my diving to vacations. After digging around, it appears that there is a pretty big community around quarry diving and it looks like there are a few close by.

So I'm going to keep researching and find a shop or group close to me to pursue getting my cert. I've been reading around on this forum for a few days now so I thought I'd register. You have a nice forum here and I hope I can get back in the water soon.

Thanks,
Devin

Welcome! There is indeed a large group of divers in Ohio who dive the local quarries on a regular basis. I'm from PA but also a pro member of the Ohio Council on Skin and Scuba Diving which itself is over 50 years old. I will be not far from you in Gibsonburg in a couple weeks at Gilboa Quarry. You also have Whitestar, Portage, Circleville, Nelson's Ledges, and a new one just opened up in Newark. Many of the lakes in the state parks allow scuba as well. And don't forget some of the greatest freshwater diving in the world just a little bit north in the Great Lakes. Off of Cleveland a new wreck was just buoyed for recreational divers. The Ohio dive community is one of the best anywhere in the world. A lot of great clubs that are always looking for new members. And in March is Scubafest in Columbus.

Welcome aboard from another Buckeye! I was certified this February and love it. I have a boat on Lake Erie and also want to do some diving there.
