Interesting.

Meg, definitely on my list of RB's to research.

Will be even better once the Pathfinder handset (which supposedly can be used on the new meg head) has deco stoftware, as promised by ISC to come, soon.

So, for those of us who are not initiates: What's the big difference between this and the existing Megs?

looks like they are moving over to the DiveCan system where everything is modular. Basically new head design to take the electronics out of the early 90's. Switching from analog to digital

Interesting. Since I am a Meg guy (typically) - seems a little more thought out with regards to making it easier to access certain bits like batt/sensors? I like the radial canisters. I wonder if that's just part of a standard package? That said - it looks just as bullet-proof as the Meg I have now.

From the video I see a lot of other improvements besides the can communications. Everything is now plug & play including the cells. Gone are the #24 wires that need to be physically disconnected every time to replace a cell that eventually break & need to be repaired. If a controller goes down simply unplug & plug in a spare, no more soldering iron & multimeter on a boat or remote location with a controller opened up. The cell compartment with its easily misaligned O-ring is also a thing of the past. Piezo switches in the controller instead of the magnetic ones is yet another improvement. Lots of things I'm sure I didn't catch either however I like everything I did see. Now the big question is going to be when will it be available? I simply need a head however I'm sure it will be a bit of wait with how releases go with ISC. Very excited.

Before I bought my first rebreather I considered a Meg, but it didn't have a deco algorithm in the handset. Leon told me "it is coming." That was about 10 years ago.
