Why the subtle design change? My new fins are not as "flat" as my old set.
Thanks

Hi,

Sorry I missed your post earlier. The change has to do with material. Our vendor has switched materials on us and that can lead to splitting of the center portion of the fin. They should be completely monoprene which gives a subtle "snap" with each kick and propels you quite efficiently in the water, while conserving energy and gas (a huge advantage for any diver, esp. a technical diver).

How are they performing in the water?

I absolutely love them. They do give a lot more thrust than the older ones. I used my older style on fun dives. I used to use my split fins when helping with classes to prevent cramping and they were faster if I needed to catch up to a student for some reason. Since I got the new Dive Rite fins all of my other fins stay in the garage.
