I am a new diver and I only dive on holidays maybe two times a year. I had a 12 month break recently but I made a lot of progress during that time by reading scubaboard and various articles about boyancy and trim.

I can implement what I read to practice quite easily, so forums like these are invaluable as I don't have that much time to learn everything in the water. Last year I flutter kicked, turned vertical when I stopped and had 5kg of weights. This year after couple of dives I frog kicked, stayed horizontal and used only 3kgs ( at the end of the last dive I was able to submerge with almost empty tank and just 2kg). Most of this is down to reading and visualizing the techniques.

And that happened between dives 14-22.

So thank you everyone sharing the knowledge, it does help!
