I have both the escape and the ranger, love them both , i just cold water dive in newengland got the ranger cause i moved to a 8 mil semidry and i do alot od scalloping and the extra lift is a good thing

capt gene,
a little off topic.
i have a ranger ltd.
i bought it at a lds near by.
also got a flat head six.
the store owner told me that if i service my gear once a year that parts are free.
paying only the labour.

where the inflator joins the bcd there is a flange.
it looks like this flange is rubbing against the tank when diving.
the bcd material is starting to frey (come apart ).

i have all my gear serviced once a year.
would the bladder be considered a free part with me paying for the labour and shipping?

sorry for the hyjack.
thanks,
smokey

I own a Zeagle Express Tech and have been using it since I completed my OW course. I hated the jacket style BCD used in class.

Anyway, I ordered mine with the shoulder pads and the larger 30# donut wing. After one dive with the shoulder pads I removed them. They made it difficult for me to sling on my rig once the tank is strapped in. My wife is my dive buddy so I usually help her into her gear and put all mine on myself. I wear a long sleeve 1.5mm rash gaurd even when diving tropical so the lack of pads doesnt bother me.

Since purchase I made a few mods including a metal buckle (a plastic one is included), plastic assembly screws to help keep the backplate and wing tight, hogarthian setup for the d-rings, and XS Scuba weight pouches on my cam straps. So far I havent needed more weight than I can put in them, but I am pretty dense. I will be doing my AOW course at the end of this month in a local quarry so I will see if I need any additional weight system for when I dive with a 7mm.

Overall this is a very adaptable system. You would be just fine buying it as your only BCD.

Just a thought get a Ranger then buy a smaller bladder for it for when you are traveling.

I believe that to be a warranty issue if you bought the BC new, and you could call Customer Service at Zeagle 813 782 5568.
