Hi I am a brand new diver in Vermont (VT) I will have my PADI OW cert very soon. I live in the greater Burlington area and was wonder how to get in the water? What I mean is, what are some of the interesting places to dive in the area and how would one arrange to get to them? There are quite a few wrecks in Lake Champlain, but what is the best and cheapest way to get to them ect?

Thanks,
Adam

I'm brand new too, but the advice I hear repeated often is to check out your Local Dive Shop (LDS). They'll know the area and probably have some free or cheap dives set up on a regular basis. Hope that helps a little.

Welcome to scuba diving and to scubaboard. Your thread caught my eye as I spent summers in Burlington as a kid. Never thought of diving in Lake Champlain, but just typed Scuba and Burlington into Google and was amazed at how many dive shops are in your area, and how much information showed up.

Liz offered great advice. Take of tour of the local dive shops, they often have dive clubs, or meet up dives ;-).

Have a great time in class and exploring the lake. If you get the chance please say hi to "Champ" for me :).

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I will take you up on your advice and pay a visit to the different dive shops and go from there!

BTW Champ is a regular around here:

I will pass on your "Hi" next time I run into him!
