Dive clubs are good to meet buddies. Burbank Dive Club meets the second Wednesday of each month.
Check out the Beach Crabs section of the So Cal forum. It's a loose association of divers that schedule dives together. Someone is usually posting dives to go to each week. Mostly shores dives between Laguna and Malibu, but usually also one boat dive each month. This past Saturday 6 of them met in Laguna for a shore dive while another 20 went diving at Catalina on the Great Escape dive boat. Noobs are welcome.

I saw you over on DMX....welcome! Jump right in when dive plans are posted....new buddies are always welcome!
