Hi,

This post can be moved to appropriate forum if I am posting in the wrong location.

I have recently been certified for open water diving, and only have my certification dives under my belt. Im looking for a local dive partner in my area so I can get a few more dives in before we go on warm water trips. I would prefer somebody that can help me become more experienced and help me along while having fun. I have all my gear other than tanks and suits.

I am on a lake here in NH, and about an hour from the coast. Let me know if somebody out there can help me learn more about this great sport!

Not that this should matter, but I am a 53 yr old male.....

Post on several dive boards, and don't overlook hanging around a local dive shop and asking around. I don't know about NH but there are many divers from eastern mass who like to dive from shore around Cape Ann. And don't limit yourself to posting on 'new divers' boards, ask on the general discussion boards too, since it's not necessarily going to be a fellow newbie you're looking for to show you around.

General note: the cheaper and more "routine" the dive venue is (like many shore dives) the more willing an experienced diver will be to "pay it forward" and buddy with you. Even on a boat dive, the captain or divemaster will make an effort to find you a compatible buddy. I showed up alone a lot (still do) and it's worked out for me.

welcome to the sport and good luck.

Hey there, I am also in NH about 15 minutes from the coast. Ok, to clarify, I am in San Diego but returning to NH in 2 weeks. I am also a relatively new diver in that I was open water certified last May. However I have been in San Diego since then diving as much as I can (about 50 dives in the last year, and about 40 of them since January) including completing my OW Advanced cert and Nitrox class. I have a few contacts in the Portsmouth area that I am looking forward to diving with, and we would be more than happy to expand our group to be!

Hello: Im from near DC but I often visit family in MA. I have been wanting to dive that area so I think we should stay in touch. When I am headed that way I will let you guys know and we can get together for some shore dives.

Hi, where about in NH are you at. My wife and I are located in Southern Maine if your every looking to come up here in dive we may be able to meet up.
