Hi to one and all...Yep NEW DIVER you got it...the diving is limited here in Colorado, because of altitude and the wonderfully cold water you almost need to be an advanced diver before you hit the local waters; thank goodness we have a very nice airport to take me to warmer more hospitable waters. Hope everyone is having a nice evening...Cheers...see you bye... :cheering:

We have noted that when doing checkout dives with new OW students in a cold water lake at 4600' here in the Black Hills that some agencies and equipment manfacturers consider the conditions "extreme". Shoot, we just call it "the weekend".

:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue:

BTW - it would really help if you'd fill out your Profile - so we can respect your training and experiences, or be courteous if you're a newbie?!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Diving. I am in Lakewood, and understand you comment better than anyone. However, when you feel the need to get some bottom time locally, the best water is Aurora Resevoir. But early July the surface will be close to 70 F, and at 30 feet, mid 60's. There is an airplane, lots of crawdads, and some big bass and walleye to keep you company.
Also a dedicated "scuba beach."

exactly. Here in Colorado we are at about 5100 feet wwhere we train. I find that our divers, having experienced less than idea conditions, hit the warm carribean and are excellent divers- good skills, good habits, and happy to be warm!
