Sorry you had a bad experience. Most my dives come when i am cruising,i actually did my check out dives in Curacao. I've dove Curacao 8 times because it has been such a nice shore dive and we always had two dive masters at all times. One leading and the other always helping others. Especially if you tell them your new to diving. When we plan a trip the first thing i do is to check which local dive shops to see who can accommodate cruise ship passengers and ask them questions. I tell them my dive experience and what i expect and so far its been great. In fact we are going back to Grenada next month because of the great time we had two years ago. They meet me at the ship and take me to the shop and at the end they take you back. If i can"t find somebody local i use the cruise ship and have really good luck as well. The dive shop owners want good feed back from the passengers because if not they and they get negative feedback from passengers they will get rid of them and find companies that treat them the way the cruise ship does. Hope this helps.

I understand your complaint. On most of my dives, I have relied on the dive operator to provide a DM to guide the group, and I expected that the group would stick together. And that is what I have gotten. So I can readily understand why you may have assumed you would have an experience like that.

What I have learned from your post is that it's important to ask more questions (than I have done in the past) at the time of booking to make sure the dive experience will be consistent with my expectations.

And one of my goals, which is one reason I am reading this board these days, is to make the transition to being a more self-reliant diver.
