Anybody want to dive the new dive site near portofino resort on the 15th? Planning on getting there early about 6:30 am, right now the salt water tides website has high tide at 10:30 for Pensacola. Just let me know if your interested. :coffee:

Great that means i get to sleep in. Thanks for the info. :-)

I'll be in Pensacola July 9th for a week, planning on diving the O again but was looking at doing some shore diving the Ft Picken's Jetty, where is this new site? I saw on the MBT dive shop site there was some ne snorkle/dive area near the fort, is that up and running now? If so any other details about shore sites would be great. Thanks!

Airstream has another thread titled new reef at portofino Pensacola beach in the deep dixie forum. Here are the GPS coordinates he put up for the nearest beach parking 30.348000, -87.053787, apparently it's about a mile or so east of portofino resort which is on the opposite side from the gulf. There are two orange poles on the beach that you can navigate off of to get to the orange buoy that's about 100 yards or so from shore. Please look at Airstream's thread just to make sure I have all my info right. If you want a buddy for the 9th I may be able to join you depending on my work schedule, also have a couple of roommates that dive that area that might be interested. I haven't heard of any new dive area off the fort, I'd check with the local dive shops. Another great dive to do while your in town is the Massachusetts which is in Pensacola pass but can be tricky timing it just right to get the right conditions. MBT should be able to take you there.
