The DGX 800 Handheld Light features a true out-the-front 800 system lumens of cool white 6500°K light in a tight 8° beam. The DGX 800 also includes two (2) FREE lithium-ion 18650 protected 3.7V batteries and FREE 110/220V 50/60Hz mains dual battery charger with US flat blade on the charger (EU round mains plug adapter optional).

I have three of Dive Gear Express's DGX Max (600) lights and I love them. They are incredibly bright...just as bright as my canister light. For a night dive or back-up lights I would imagine this DGX 800 would be fantastic.

Looks awesome. It appears to be the same LED emitter as the DGX 600. How does it get 200 more lumens out? Just pumping more voltage through the emitter?

I have two of the 600s and love 'em. Now I must have one of these!

led drivers run using constant current output. the driver probably runs at a higher amperage in the dgx 800 compared to the 600. there is a slight increase in the voltage due to the increase in current, but you don't increase the voltage to the led chip directly. rather, it is a side effect of increasing the current. due to efficiency issues, going from 1A to 2A does not give a linear doubling of luminous flux though.
