New coating eliminates fogging

This looks cool and hopefully we'll see someone apply it to dive masks in the near future

This technology is already being used. All the newer Hydro Optix masks use the NanoFog coating. Works amazingly well. I still put a little smear of SeaGold on the mask, but rather than doing it every dive, I only do it once a day. Apparently, it doesn't even need that.

I have a Seadive antifog mask. At first it works well, but Ive learned you have to be very careful to clean it before getting wet. Anything on the glasss screws up the antifog. Otherwise, its worked pretty well. I hope this new tech will be even better.

I don't know if anyone has used "Sea Spit" yet, I have and what a difference it is compared to the others on the shelf. Multiple dives and no re-application, I didn't believe it till I tried it. Even works in a chlorinated enviroment when doing pool work.

They have the tribesmen from Nabootatoo spit in these specialised clay urns. The urns and their contents are then allowed to ferment over several weeks. Once fully ripened, the contents are then poured into the "Sea Spit" bottles and sent out for consumer use ....

Well, technology LIKE it is already being used... this hasn't been released yet. In the meantime, my own spit seems to have mystical defogging properties Provided I spit in the mask before descending (and wiping/rinsing) I never have a problem with fogging. Hopefully this new still will get rid of any need to put anything on your mask. It would be helpful on the bathroom mirror as well.

Very similar products. NanoFOG is comprised of titanium dioxide, whilst the product you are referring to is done with polymer technology.

The only time the Hydro Optix mask requires the Sea Gold gel, is for 'cleaning' per the manual. Other than that, you are not supposed to do anything with the inside of the lens as it becomes soft with moisture.

Im in. If it works it has a lot of potential. Hate cleaning and clearing the mask in the winter with thick mittens on.

Like other divers, I just use good ol' spit. Works wonders. For my fellow divers who have a hard time spitting into masks, for $1 I will spit into your mask. If your car windows fog up I can spit on that as well. Glasses fog up??? no problem. bathroom mirror fog? I'll spit on that. sliding glass door in the kitchen, your mother in law's glasses fog? I'll spit on her. your boss? heck ... even that dog from across the street who poops in your lawn. No problem. All for a buck.. My prices are even lower than LP or ScubaToys. Let me know.

I used mine in a clorine pool and the defog never worked again.
