It looks like the team at Bonaire Photography Center have added new specialty classes for Olympus/OM TGs, Mobile Phones, and even Snorkelers. They even added a partnership for a private boat combined with your photography classes for the perfect day. Check them out before slots fill up at:

My wife was just about to contact Caitlin to set up a TG class, and discovered they are closing. I’m planning on starting a thread asking for recommendations, but wanted to see if you know of any other TG specific classes on the island, since we were happy to find a local recommendation that pointed us to BPC. Appreciate any advise or input @Diver-6873.

Thanks,
Erik

Is the Dive Friends course no good for you?

I haven’t checked into it yet. BPC offered classes specific to the type of camera you were using, which is what peaked Melissa’s interest. I’ll have to check into theirs to see how it’s run.

Honestly, I didn’t realize that they had one, so I’ll give them a closer look. I’ve heard good things about the classes at Buddy Dive, as well.

It is worth checking at Buddy Dive; I expect the photo guy there (Guillermo Alcorta) would be happy to teach specifically to the TG and to your wife's needs.

Erik. It has been very difficult for so many with the closing of BPC. I will inquire and post here if I hear of anyone with a similar TG class/experience.

I’ve taken action on the 2 suggestions that I received here, and am ready to report back. Much to my dismay, simply because I had heard so many good things about Guillermo, Buddy Dive is not currently offering any photo classes.

However, I received a response from Dive Friends today, in which they said that they have an instructor that has a TG6 and will see about matching up availability. So, given that we have 12 days of diving coming up with them, I’m hoping that we can work something out.

Also, I want the three of you to know that I really appreciate the suggestions that you’ve given through this. If @Diver-6873 hadn’t started this thread, I would have never thought that a class specific to a brand of camera was possible.

Thanks, again,
Erik

I'm stunned. I will be looking into this more deeply. I lead 1 or 2 trips a year to Buddy Dive, with 16-30 divers each, and photography is important.
