That 20D looks very nice. I'm even more excited about what's going to happen with cameras like the 300D and the D70. DSLR prices are going to come down a little.

If the lens is as good as I hope, the S70 would make a very good upgrade. I couldn't see upgrading from the A70 to a 4MP. Go for the gold. Try the S60 or S70.

FYI a friend of mine who is an absolute photography novice was in town last week. I helped her shop for and buy a Canon A70. Using the dummy mode she has produced some great images. Now she's a total convert.

Thanks for the comment, if I upgrade the only option out of the above would be the S70 or S60 (I really dont think I'll have to money too :11: ) - A95 doesn't have RAW and I doubt a canon housing will be made for the G6.

The 20D is still out of my league and yes the A70 is an awesome camera for the money, especially with a few add-on lenses.

Thanks for the update - it arrived at just the right time.......as I am lookinh into a housing for the G5.

The difference between the G5 and the G6 is not that great - if you forget about the extra 2 MP (which may produce extra noise). A little smaller and lighter, faster start up time, slightly higher resolution video and that's about it. Certainly not enought, in my mind, to warrant an upgrade and expenditure....Iain

I like the size and wide angle lens that the S60 and S70 offer. DP Review just reviewed the S60 and gave it their "highly recommended" approval.

Does anyone know what Olympus will be offering?

I feel behind the times with my G2. I was looking at getting the 10D. Is there a real big difference between the 10D and 20D except the price. I thought I read where I can get the 10D for about $1000.00. That is still a little too steep for me right now, but I hoped to get it in the future with a nice UW housing. What do you think??

It looks like the 20D is going to kill everything else in it's price range. It is bascially a cut down EOS-1D Mark II. Surely this should make other DSLRs come down in price? I guess you'll have to wait and see. The 10D is still a very good camera though, but remember that buying an SLR you'll be spending more on the glass than the camera body.

G2 is still a good camera in my opinion, just can't blow up prints as much as the newer models - remember the lens is far more important than megapixel etc.

Well, I've been looking at the A-95, it fits in the A-80 housing, (WP-DC900), and has a larger screen, more shooting modes, is a 5 mp, and costs the same as my A-80 did last Christmas.

Oh, and speaking of my 80, I've been having a good run of luck with it, take a peek at my gallery, any tips would be appreciated.

The thing about buying a new camera; remember, the camera is just the wrench. The mechanic is where the magic comes from.

Cheers and good shooting,

TJ
