I found a deal on a used A6400 package and took the jump from the Canon G7Xii to the mirrorless setup. I just returned from a trip to Cozumel and I was happy with some of the photos I was able to get. The Sony package is probably 40 to 50% larger and heavier than the Canon setup. This made it bulkier and required a new backpack setup to fit everything. The upside was the images do have more detail and the autofocus was noticeably better than the Canon. The hit rate with the Canon was probably 40 to 50%, and the Sony seems to be 80% or so. For the price and convenience the Canon really can't be beat. I really wanted to see if there was a noticeable difference in quality of images for a hobby-photographer like me, and it appears there is. The shots of the smaller stuff was with the WWL-C and zooming through to try get a decent shot. It worked better than I expected and I was able to get some usable shots of some nudis and fire worms. Any suggestions on improving technique are welcome.
