Bonjour

I am new to scuba diving. I love history and archaeology and have fallen in love with diving. I plan to put the two together and have fun with the combination. My goals are to become a Master Scuba Diver, and go level three with NAS. I give myself three years to do this. I will have a lot of questions, but as I gain in experience I will be able to contribute to the forum as well.

Welcome to diving, and to :sblogo:! Glad to have you here.

One of my Fundies classmates had gotten into diving because of an interest in underwater archaeology. I don't know how far he has gone with it, though.

Welcome! If you're lucky like many here that excitement will burn long and bright.

You have set some reasonable goals for the next 3 years. Just remember to have ample independent diving with buddies between courses.

Do the free range golf balls I collect count as artifacts? How about thunder jugs, old bottles, anchors and fishing tackle?

Pete

That's funny Spectrum. lol

I guess your collection counts as archaeology if we consider the definition of Britannica Concise Encyclopaedia

"Scientific study of material remains of past human life and activities. These include human artifacts from the very earliest stone tools to the man-made objects that are buried or thrown away in the present day."
