Hello all,
I've just joined the forum..
I'm in Turkey at the moment on holiday and just done a couple of dives for the first time :D my 1st was down to 4mts and after a hour SI I did another at 7mts (that was the bottom where we where).. I think I got some water in my right middle ear or ustashion tube. it keeps poping and crackling and sound is muffled.
I had done a lot of snorkelling years ago when I work on the QEII but never got around to diving with air. Oh why oh why oh why did I wait another 20yrs before trying diving, it's just a great as I thought it would be.
I think I'm hooked....
I'm looking at getting certified now, I was thinking about doing it here in Turkey but I'm not too confident about the quality of the tuition.
I don't know what tuition you would expect to receive doing your 1st two dives... but I didn't get much. I was talked through the under water hand signals, he talked about the BC, regulator and octopus but that was it. Oh and no medical questionnaire.
So I was thinking I would wait until I get home to get certified. Not as warm as here but I think the tuition would be better.
What is the difference between PADI and BASC, which is better and why?
At home I live quite close to vobster.com, Vobster Quay Inland Diving Centre what do you think of it. any thoughts?

Well thanks for reading this far on what turned out to be quite a long Hello...

Hi and welcome to this fantastic sport, well for some of us its a passion.

I'm biased having been a BSAC member for over 30 years, look round the BSAC Site and see which clubs are near you, also why not call in on the BSAC Forums.

As for the difference between PADI and BSAC:

PADI teach diving.
BSAC go diving (we also teach, but that's not our primary aim)

PM me if you have specific questions.

Regards

Edward
