I just got a IST proline Saturn BCD and now my BD host doent fit...

I was using a SCUBA Pro BCD...

My 1st stage is a Scuba Pro MK 20, but the BCD line coupling is too big, can I just get a IST BCD hose and plug that right into my Scuba pro MK20 1st stage? thanks!

Welcome to the board.

There is not problem swapping the hoses. Just make sure you start and continue to install the hose BY HAND until it seats. It should go very easy, if it does not, stop, something is wrong. If it seats OK, just snugg the hose using to correct wrench (spanner). I use 2 fingers and pull with them to just snugg the hose. The Oring on the hose does the sealing and there is no need to put a lot of torque on the fitting. Both the main body of the reg and the fitting are brass and it is quite possible to damage either by tighting them too much. Once snugged, if they leak do not try to stop the leak by farther tighting the hose. It will not likely help and you may do damage. If it leaks, there is some problem with the Oring, hose or reg and it's time to head to the dive shop for help.

I'm not sure that I understand the problem. First of all, a new BCD usually come with all hoses necessary to attach to your 1st stage. They also come with an infaltor that fits the corrugated hose and the LP inflator hose. And most standard inflators use a 626 connection which is standard across all mbrands. Only combined octo/inflators use a different connection and those connections designs may vary with manufacturer (2 or 3 different designs, none are the 626 connection). So, before you go off a buy a new hose, you might want to be a bit clearer exactly where the problem lies.

I have a Hollis HD100, a Zeagle Ranger, and a now retired Tusa Imprex. They have different sized QD couplers on all three. I can use the bigger one(Hollis) to connect to the other two, but the hoses from the other two are not interchangeable with each other, or the Hollis. Just wanted to throw in my $0.02.
To answer your question, yes, you can easily replace these hoses.

One of the most irritating little couplings in the diving industry.

I do wish these disconnects would conform to an industry standard.

The loss of a LP inflator hose on some rigs can effectively cancel out a complete diving trip.

I keep a couple or three different LP inflator hoses in my save-a-dive box (well, actually, they're at the bottom of my dive bag) for just such situations.

Hi-i think the adapter set i have for sale would allow your hose to fit. The part 1 of the set is what you need as the scubapro has a 3/8 port.

Perfect for Instructors or Divemasters as a spare second stage can be outfitted to different manufactures LP ports
Part 1- Converts first stage outlet from 3/8 x 24 to 7/16 x 24
Part 2- Converts first stage outlet from 7/16 z 24 to 3/8 x 24
Used
$6usd plus shipping

thanks for the info so far guys....

I got the new BCD(IST) used, so it didnt come with any hoses.

My old BCD(scubaPro) has a scuba Pro Air2, a combined Octo/inflater.... so the LP hose I have comming off my 1st stage is the one that went to the AIR2, which is too big for the New BCD inflater.... hope that explains it a bit better.... thanks again for all the information

That's pretty simple. You had a combo inflator/octo on your scubapro rig and are going to a BC that has just the power inflator without a built in octopus. Your new BC's power inflator should take the 626 connector and those are a dime a dozen. I have several spares in my basement. I just went the opposite direction of you when I replaced my inflator with the scubabpro inflator/octo combination. They use a larger connector when it has the built in octo to move more air when you breath from it. You should be able to pick up a standar 626 connector hose for around $20 just about anywhere. You should carefully measure how long you want it so you don't have the inflator hose sticking up too high to get tangled on stuff....
