December strong winds and rain hit Bonaire. The water temperature has plummeted. With cool waters, bleached coral is taking backing back in the algae it uses for food bringing life to the reef. With healthy coral more fish are populating the reef. With a healthier reef, what cool marine life has moved in? Imagine dropping off a cliff and quickly encountering a manta. Imagine seeing a school of Bigeye scad in near perfect visibility! Imagine lots of sea turtles! Yeah, we have got all that and more. The question that remains is: "what has survived heat and bleaching." Come with us as we explore to find out.

Great video, as always.

Is your observation (the reef is coming back) supported in any way by academic or scientific data? Has STINAPA released anything suggesting the bleaching is being reversed?
