Haven't dove in Ochi, but have dove MoBay and Negril. Negril was much better. Problem with MoBay is that it's so over fished, so there's just not a ton of life.
We just dove through our resort (Royal Decameron) and the boat they used was a joke... a glass bottom thing. BUT, it was just us, the boat captain and a really nice instructor (who did pick up conch for dinner while we dove) on every dive. The sites were all close, and we were on the edge of some decent walls... but they seem really paranoid about depth and bottom time in Jamaica. Most safety concious place I've ever dove at! Didn't do any wrecks there. However, maybe if you find a decent private op, you can at least go out and do some walls. Way I see it... It was warm with great viz. and certainly some life to check out. So a bad day diving in MoBay still beats a good day of murky, lifeless cold... for me, anyway :)

P.S As a resort, the RDMB was a great deal. Nothing fancy, but clean, decent food, great ocean views, and it's like 5 min. from the airport, and right on the hip strip.

Hi and Welcome to ScubaBoard! :admingreet:

In July I dove Negril and Mo Bay. In Mo Bay, I dove with SCUBA Jamaica Jamaica SCUBA Divers - A PADI Gold Palm Diving Center with three locations from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios. and had no issues/complaints. There was rain on one of the days I was supposed to dive. Instead of just taking me out to cruddy viz they informed me and gave me the choice to dive or not. Then they called some of their friends to see if viz was better in any other area. They do limit your bottom time to about 45 minutes.

SCUBA Jamaica has a shop at a resort, but I didn't stay at that resort. They also have a driver that will come and pick you up.

I would dive with them again.
