I'm a Fish!
Hello,

We will be traveling to Nevis next spring and were interested in finding out if anyone has any experience diving from shore on the Caribbean side. The kids are both Junior open water divers so we will be limited to the afternoon boat dives from the local shop there, but we will be renting a house with beach access and were hoping to be able to get some extra dives in from shore.

Be interested in anyones experience, things to watch out for, etc.

Thanks,

Matt

It's been a couple of years, but... We stayed on Pinneys beach and there really wasn't much in the way of shore diving or anything interesting there. Not sure about other parts of the island. We did do a DO dive to a site called Devils Caves which I remember as being a great dive. According to my old log book, it was only a 45' dive but the coral and other marine life was exceptional. If you get a chance, check it out. Good Luck. DD

DiverDon,

Thank you for the information. We will be slightly further south on the island in a place with a pretty secluded little cove. I am sure we will check it out, never know what you will find.

Was your trip to Devils Caves with Scuba Safari? They seem to be the only outfit on the island, but it sounds like you had a good time.

The guys at scuba safaris are excellent. We did several dives with them this summer and they certified my 13 yr old son.Very good crew. JW

Curious how you liked the shore diving in Nevis as we will be there for a few days next week staying at the Four Seasons.
