Oh No! I hope this turns out to be him just getting swept away by a brisk current and he is sitting on peanut island waiting to be found. Sad that his niece was with him when this happened.

Last year I witnessed a man drift across the boat channel with his girlfriend at blue heron when a sheriffs boat noticed and got them to surface and come back. He was later diagnosed with a medical event and was in the hospital.

Wow at BHB. Must have gotten out into the current and/or been diving outside of slack tide. Otherwise I'd think even if someone had a heart attack or something the high number of divers that are always there plus the shallow clear water would make it hard for someone to get lost.

I guess there's always the hope that the diver got into the current and was swept away but is alive. Seems like a stretch of a scenario though.

sorry to hear such sad news...
