Neoprene Scuba Tank Cover, just cover flat part of tank, 1" from bottom to engraving

maybe, maybe not .. why ?
it would make an aluminum 80cf tank even more buoyant than it already is, causing you to have to use more lead to compensate for it
it would not allow you to wash off your tank without removing it each time

I did have one of those mesh covers for my yellow AL80 tank, but quit using them and it stayed very nice looking by just being a bit careful

+1 on buoyancy, more lead required.

Adding neoprene will cause additional bouyancy swings to compensate for and should be avoided. I see no benefits by using it and only additional problems with it. Unless you need neoprene for thermal protection i would stay away from it.

the idea was to protect the tank from scuffs,,, etc
and protect the boat from scuffs if they were to bump into it

didnt think of the buoyancy issues with it

but then again what is the point in buying a colored tank if you just going to cover it up, might as well have brushed or UGLY, lol

Yeah, I figure since I can't see it while I'm diving I pretty much don't care what it looks like.

:eyebrow:

I was thinking of a similar type cover for my tanks to keep the tanks from scarring my pool while teaching. So, the consensus is what? Bouyancy is not a big problem, fills arent't either as I would remove the covers before going to O/W
