Hi All Nemo Users,

What is the meaning of "Des" shown on the display after a dive? It's Desaturation time on the manual book, but it did not explain any further. I do not undertstand it. It's not Surface Interval right, as it's showing 6 hours after 1 dive and it's showing like 12 hours after 2 dives. Hope you guys kind and patient enough to tell me in details. Thank you.

Regards,

Eddy

After a reasonable SI between dives you still have dissolved gas/bubbles in your system. If you use tables, you'll see that you start the next dive in a higher pressure group (unless you have a very long SI after a very short, shallow dive) than the preceding dive due to a residual N2 load. De-saturation time means that this residual inert gas load (theoretically) has time to fully off gas. After your de-saturation time you can go to altitude, fly etc., without any worries about DCS.
