Is Nekton planning on giving any discounts on their new itinerary, I know there website states 2150 as their rate.

Sorry - I don't have any first hand knowledge about it. Probably a call to their office could give you that information.
I happened to talk to the office about something else tonight and asked if they knew how often the Aggressor was able to make the crossing. John didn't know for sure but thought the weather kept them from crossing fairly often during the winter.

I know we didn't make it the week we were there and the Captain didn't think the next group would make it either. I expect they do make it over most of the time in the summer.

I am doing central Belize 1-7 to 1-14 and am not sure if the a/c driping would be a concern but if so which cabins might that be in? I love getting wet but not while sleeping , with a bunch of guts anyway:)

To be notified of any discounts, go to their website and get on the mailing list. Nekton is moving towards email newsletters but I believe they are doing one last mailing to get the email addresses of everyone on their snail mail list. Also watch the website.

As far as the drippy air conditioner, it is really condensation from the air conditioning pipes and that only occurs in the lower cabins. The crew helps eliminate the drips getting to the guests by putting absorbent cloths at the few places where it does occur, so it is absorbed rather than dripped (dropped?). The crew should check them several times a day and replace any that are damp with new ones. I always stay in a bottom cabin and don't have a problem, in fact my favorite cabin is #8.

Hope this helps.

Like Pam Said, it's really not a big deal but I think it happens more with cabins on the bottom floor towards the rear of the boat.

That said, I usually prefer staying on the bottom floor towards the middle or rear. That seems to be the quietest place on the boat.

When I was in Little Cayman a couple weeks ago there was a SI discussion about the Nekton coming to Cayman. One of the divemasters said the Nekton did not have a permit yet to dive Bloody Bay marine park, and he wasn't sure what was going to happen with that because the rules currently say no more than 20 divers on a single boat in the park.

In regards to the drips, we were on the Pilot for the Cay Sal trip July 05 and had no problem in our cabin. In fact, this board is the first mention of it that I have heard (in other words, we did not hear any of our fellow passengers mention it while on the trip).

We stayed in Cabin 11.

On a side note, we are planning on joining the Rorqual in the Caymans this July :D

ScubaLuke is correct...we are moving the Rorqual to the Cayman Islands on a year round basis (except for the weeks in the fall when we bring her back to the US for her Coast Guard inspection at shipyard). The Pilot will continue to do Belize during the winter months and then reposition to Fort Lauderdale where she will alternate between the NW Bahamas and the Cay Sal Bank itineraries. We believe that the Rorqual will consistently be able to make the crossing from Cayman to Little Cayman and Cayman Brac due to her design.
Will the vessels still be US Flagged?
