I'm glad to hear your praise report. I just met someone who just returned from belize. She told me that the captain had a drinking problem, and appeared to be 'stoned' when she arrived on the boat. Maybe she had a bad trip in Belize, but I'm quite concerned about going. I've been reading about the crew member who was killed, the tender boat catching fire, and all kinds of reports of bugs and mechanical problems with the boat. Do you think this is all just gossip, or should it be taken seriously? On the one side I see praise and the other side I see disappointment. I have to make a decision soon.

2 posts - in one you have a friend who knows the captain and has nothing but bad things to say about the boat but likes the Agressor - the other a friend who met the captain when she arrived on the boat and thinks he has a drinking problem and was stoned.

Am I the only one who thinks that this just does not pass the smell test.

Right, and then they "have to make a decision soon" I didn't like the smell either.

I met Grant when he was on the Pilot in the Bahamas last year in May... He really just looks like a stoner and has a toal Key West kinda attitude.I just can't see him actually being drunk or stoned...

yeah, same thoughts. And "crew member being killed"....not hardly, a crew member was lost at sea, "killed" implies murdered. Seems like this person is spreading gossip and doesn't know anything about either boat or is someone who works for another operation.

This message is for CASTAWAYDS... UNtill you have personally booked your trip on the Nekton Pilot you have absolutely no room to talk about Captain Grant or anything else! You have nothing to back up what you saY nor do you have any room to talk about the captain on the boat! Untill then you do not have any room to talk about the captain onboard the Nekton Pilot untill you book a trip and enjoy the best wall diving in the caribbean and eat the best food all around! Welcomed with warm smiles and friendly crew and our Captain that appeases to the wishes of the guest desires and even enjoys afternoon dives with the guest dont talk unless you can truly back up what you are trying to say when you don`t have any clue of the truth or the facts! with love from a crew member!!!!!

I have sat quietly by while those of you who frequent scuba board have trashed my boat, my crew, myself. And now I have to speak up. We have had fantastic trips here in Belize with guests who came to have a good time. We have had horrible trips with guests who were dead set against having a good time before they even got here. Yes you are hearing from the captain now. The personal attacks have gotten out of control. I',m pissed. And I take every comment personally, because I actually do care. My crew is also my family and they feel the same way. If you want to have a great trip come with a great attitude and we will bend over backwards to make you happy, but if you are looking for a bad time you will probably find it. I hope this clears things up for you. By the way I don't use drugs and if you want I'll piss for you any time. Also Ginge was my friend not just some crewmember we lost. You guys really need to get a life. To all of our guest who have come and had a great time with us, we hope to see you real soon. To those who just look for a bad time, I hear the Aggressor and Sundancer can't wait to see you. I'm really not trying to be rude but I am personally offended by what I read here. And I have to read these things so I know what our customers are saying but come on. If my long hair makes me look like a stoner maybe you should really reevaluate your priorities. I know everyone can't dive everyday like we do. This is a life we chose and it's customer based. But we do have feelings to and we don't trash you guys on the web every week. If you are having a bad trip why did you wait until you got home to tell anyone. My door is always open and I don't go off duty. If you need something you need to speak up. I have never ignored a request, and don't plan to. I probably should not be writing any of this but I think someone should set the record straight

We have a guest diving with us at present who was with you on the Nekton last week. He endorses everything you've said. He says the Nekton is a superb divers' dive boat, very stable, large cabins, etc. And he also did the Blue Hole dive.
