Need your help!

I want to buy two or three new Canon A series (I need full manual control) and Canon housings. Maybe it's the stress of getting ready to leave on a big trip, but I'm having all sorts of troubles finding cameras and housings!

I need your help...can you find a link or two with both camera and housing? Can even be different sites for each.

Not interested in G or SD/Ixus series. Only A series. New only, preferably.

We're in some bizarre Canon changeover time evidently.

The A720 IS is shown as discontinued at B&H and other sites yet some still sell it as new. A lot of them are just web storefronts though - not sites I trust. It uses the WP-DC16 housing. Both camera and housings are new on eBay but they're way overpriced, even the refurbs are just under $200 -new ones are about $50 more. I see that often with recently discontinued cameras still in demand that are sold there.

Adorama has the housing for $175 2314B001 Canon WP-DC16 Waterproof Housing for the Powershot A720 IS, Waterproof Down to 131'. but no cameras.

Last year I saw people buying the A570IS but they seem to be gone now also. You can find both camera and the WP-DC12 housings new on eBay.

Canon doesn't seem to have made a housing for the A590 IS or the A580. Or the new models, A1000 IS and A2000 IS. None of them are listed in the accessories section on the Canon website.

hth, I'm looking for a new camera/housing also for a March trip so I've been poking around looking at options. I'm also trying to find a housing for my older Oly SP-350, as it shoots raw and can drive a TTL flash since it has a hotshoe.

I'm glad I'm not the only one finding that stuff...I couldn't believe it when I started looking.

I don't want more 570s really, I already have two. Might look at the 720s even if I pay a little too much.

digideep.com :: list of all underwater housings suitable for digital photography and videography... says that there are housings from Canon for the 580 and 590, but I can't find anyone who has them.

I hate being thwarted when I want to shop! LOL

Guess I might have to find an SD series with manual white balance and call it close enough...
