need some advice

I for the first time the other day have put a regulator in my mouth and took a few breaths from it, now the problem is that i can feel that i am going to have a seriouse case of dry mouth. or at least i think i will, i will definitly find out tonight when i go for my first pool session. if anyone can maybe give some pointers or if ther is another piece of gear i need. i would ike to nip it in the bud before it might become a problem, thanks,,,,,
 
Dry mouth is pretty common, as the compressed air is purposely kept dry to avoid corroding the interior of the tank. With that in mind, drink plenty of water for diving, as dehydration can factor in by breathing dry air.

I will add that it is something you get used to. First time I breathed off a regulator I thought the same thing. Now I just don't notice it.

You can buy a pricey gadget that attaches to your regulator to moisten the air as it comes through, but you really don't need it.

sounds good, im not going to stress about it anymore, i have to wait and see what happens tonight, then ill worry about it. thanks for the reply...
 
Me, too - bothered by it at first, but no longer.

Work at hydrating well, though, to help with this, help prevent DCS, etc.

Some divers buy bags of individually wrapped hard candy to suck on after dives. Just don't forget to spit it out before you dive; don't want you breathing that thing!
 
It's worse because your looking at and feeling every little thing. After a while you may or may not notice it. Knock off or at least back off the coffee, tea, pop, beer, booze and drink lots of H2O (yea right;^))

Don't be concerned about it unless you start coughing up hair balls.

thanks for the replies, i feel alot better about it now, cant wait just two hours away for my first real experience, even though its going to be in the pool. i think ive cought that bug that i hear people talk about. im on my way
 
Drink water, drink water, drink water and when you think you've had enough....... drink MORE water!
