I am going to Florida in April with three other divers. We are all new divers and want to dive on some wreaks and reefs, but don't want to get in over our heads, so to speak. I would like to dive some where around Melbourne or maybe a little further south. Any one have some ideas out there.

Diving off any place here in Florida above Ft Pierce or so is so-so! Depends on what you are looking for. All living reefs are further south....we have some dead coquina ledges that are accessible by beach diving.....here in Cape Canaveral you have to take a boat out about 15 or so miles to reach any ledges....and then it's deep at 90-100'. Unless you are doing a little underwater grocery shopping I'd head south for ocean sites......we have some fresh water springs here that are nice and clear but can get boring to some folks. Hope this helps.
