Would any of you have a possible lead as to where I could get a new Nicad battery pack for the old style/non-digital Ikelite Sub-Strobe 200? I have duels, and the battery finally gave up the ghost on one of them.

I checked with Ikelite, but no luck, and yes..., I know I can use the newer NiMH batteries that the DS 200 uses, but I'll also have to buy the new Smart Charger too. I would prefer not having to go this route...., yet.

Any guidance/leads would be appreciated!

Thanks for the info!

It will help take the financial sting out of what will most likely be the inevitable solution.

(Yes..., I know I have a very low pain $$$ threshold for an UW photographer!)

Hi - replaced mine and bought a new charger as the flash I inherited didnt have one. It cost me $A130 about $100 US and the new battery pack that was made up to suit the 200 is brilliant.

There is a catch and that is the width of the new batteries there is a very small difference which makes them difficult to get into and out of the slot. I have never been able to run out of shots with this flash.

The batteries alone were about $US40.

Ardy:

Thanks for the info.

Since you're in Oz, you might try diving East Timor sometime. I spent 4 years there, and the diving is world class!!!! Check out www.americandivemaster.com It has a lot of UW East Timor shots on it.

I also wrote an article on diving there. Go to:

Cheers
