need help with E-510

ok guys i need help... i looked tru the manual for my answer but i couldn't
find it :

almost every pictures i take with my E-510 , i get on the lower right of the live view
an icon saying 'HI LIGHT' , i just don't know why ... i've tried shooting in my living room with very low light and it says HI LIGHT .... i' ve played with almost everything
on the camera to avoid gettin this message but i am missing something for sure.


i am sure someone on this board can give me a hand to resolve this problem

Try turning on the camera,then hit the button to view the last picture taken,then hit the info button,push the info button until no info is on the screen except for the photo. The HI LIGHT will be gone.

thanks ...but what does it mean ? when i pushed info button my HI LIGHT changed
for shadow... where can i read this in the book ?

I forgot to add, after all info is off the screen except for the photo hit the menu button to resume camera use

When viewing a photo on the LCD and HI LIGHT is visible all the bright parts of the photo will flash. Look at different photos on the LCD and you will see this.

When viewing a photo And the word SHADOW is visible, all the shadowed areas of a photo will flash. Look at several photos to see what I am talking about.

I don't have the 510 but I looked at it before I bought my E 330.

Camera functions are about the same.

I found in my manual page 93 Information display.

Highligh display.....The overexposed parts of the recorded image blink.

Shadow display.....The underexposed parts of the recorded image blink.
