If you need to learn more than just a few basic phrases, and to speak "as the locals do" in latin america countries, do a search on a program called "Learning Spanish Like Crazy" ... I'm doing it and its very effective
 
I learned a lot of Spanish working in S. America and then really learned a lot more when I married a Mexican lady. :11:

helpful in case you lose your horse:

donde esta mi caballo? -- where is my horse?



helpful in case someone finds your horse:

cuidado, mi caballo muerde! -- be careful, my horse bites!



helpful in case someone is injured by your horse:

ese no es mi caballo -- that is not my horse


good things to know how to say

hay huracanes en este lugar? -- are there hurricanes here?

es activo ese volcan? -- is the volcano active?

no, no soy terrorista -- no, i am not a terrorist

and:

Deme usted su licencia de manejar immediamente, por favor!--Give me your drivers' license immediately, please!
