Hey everyone i am currently doing a project on World War One Submarines, does anyone know any intrersting facts i could put in a power point?

This is something I did not know until I moved to the Baltimore/DC area.

The Germans used the submarines Deutschland and Bremen as commercial vessels to carry high value cargo to and from the us prior to the entry of the Us into WWI. The Deutschland made trips to Baltimore and New London before being armed, commissioned into the Jerman navy and returning to sea as a combatant as the U-155. The Bremen was lost to unknown causes on her first voyage and was never a commissioned naval vessel.

U-151 thru U-154 and U-156 through U-157 were all in the same class but unlike the other two boats were converted and commissioned directly into the German navy as U Cruisers in 1917. Compared to other U Cruiser classes they were smaller, slower (12 knots max, 6 kts cruise), did not dive very deep (164' max) but had a 25,000 mile range.

The US Naval Submarine Medical Research Lab has a published list of reports available here. Most of the research they did started around WWII though.
