Where in heck would a guy need a 7mm this time of year? Antartica?

Suggest you start in a pool and get his weights sorted out before you go to the big bad sea.
Be very carefull when you first entry the water.
An old 7mm, slightly too small is more like a 3 or 5mm and it could be as little as 10lbs, a brand new 7mm, slightly to large with trapped air, could be as much as 30lbs.

Thanks guy's! K you were right on the money. He uses 10 lbs with a bathing suit and we added 16 more and no go, added 4 more to a total of 30lbs and he was able to descend. If he had used his air down to 500psi we could have seen if it was enough but we exited with 1000 psi each so 22 might have been very close to perfect for a fairly new 7mm.
