So i go diving with this light all the time, no problems. I go for a night dive last night and i rinse it off and everything when i get home like i usually do and when i wake up this morning and look at it, it looks like i've never rinsed it off in years. I tried rubbing it with a sponge it didnt come off so i took a pick and tried to scratch it off, it still wont come off. It's all metal, one of the torch lights for the camera mask from liquid image. Should i soak it in something or what? Thank you

You say IT will nor come off. What is IT?

In general soaking gear removes salt deposits etc. Maybe soak it in a mild soap water solution for an hour. If that does not help you best try to determine what IT is. Maybe someone will have better advice but soapy water has always worked for me. Be careful using chemical rinses as they may strip the finish and then your light may corrode depending on what it is made of.

Soak in a 50% water 50% household vinigar solution. If the material does not come off than the surface of the case might be damaged by something other than salt.

soaked it in soapy water first didnt work then vinegar and water and it didnt come off :| i think the light is a goner.

Try full vinegar and then scrub with a Brillo pad (scouring pad). Best of luck!

the light is dimming for some reason, its not corroded on the inside so i dont know why but ill try the brillo pad

OK in the use at your own risk area you can try some solvents. Paint thinner, turpentine, goof off, basically your hard core solvents. I would first ask, does it matter that your light is not shiny new and pretty?

Your light dimming has nothing to do with the exterior. R the batteries fully charged?
