I am in the market for a new BC and when i was looking into them, i noticed that almost every bc that could fit my waist and weight would not fit my height. im 6'3 with a waist of 32-33 weight of 150 (yeah im really tall and lanky) I am considering buying just a small back inflation Bc seeing that it would fit my waist the best, is this a smart move? Any one else had this problem? if so please explain what you did to get past this.

thanks

Bacon, had a similar problem in women's proportions. Smalls are too short and anything else too big. You can get Larry at scubatoys.com to make up a custom Zeagle with small cumberbund and probably medium shoulders. Or you can go with a BP/W which is fitted exactly to your body.

I have a Zeagle Brigade and 2 BP/Ws now. Custom is the way to go with either Zeagle or harness.

I'm 6'4" with a 34" waist (180lbs). I have a Oceanic Chute 3 that fits me well. I dont recall what size it is I'll have to check tonight.

Hey Evil,
I'm not sure if you're still looking for BC recommendations, but I am a similar build to you- tall and lanky, thin, about 6'3 tall and 180 lbs (but I don't look near that heavy). I use an SeaQuest Balance BC in the Med/Large size, and it fits me great.
I think a small would be much too small on you.

From your description, and depending on the thickness of suit you are wearing, it seems like a MD vest with a LG set of shoulders would work for you...if you are diving only tropical, change the vest to a SM.

Good luck on your search!!!

Bacon,

FYI the new Mares Dragon (mens) and Kaila (womens) bcds have an additional range of adjustment in the torso. Meaning you can lengthen the torso apprx 3". This was designed specifically for your challenge.

Good luck on your search.
