I am trying to plan a trip for the summer and am going with some friends who want a casino in or near the resort we stay at. My wife and I want to do about 3 days of good diving during the trip and the only places with a casino we can find are in punta cana. Any other suggetions?

There's the Divi Flamingo on Bonaire.

The Divi Carina on St. Croix.

Several on Nassau including Atlantis, the Wyndham and Cable Resort/Crystal Palace.

There's several on Freeport(Grand Bahama). Isle of Capri in Port Lucaya is one.

And there's probably a dozen on Curacao. Some located in hotels that also have on-site diveops. And the diving's as good as Bonaire since they're on the same reef.

The Allegro on Grace Bay on Provo.(Turks/Caicos)

Check flights from Newark to Bonaire/Curacao - they're pretty good.

St Croix Is Great For Diving, There Is 1 Casino On The Island, A Great Rum Tour And The Food At The Restaurants In Cristianstead Are Top Notch! I Recommend Staying At Carringtons Inn; It's A Bed And Breakfast And Renting A Car. The Dives From Shore At Cane Bay Are Fantastic Wall Dives And The Fredrickstead Pier Is The Best Shallow Dive For Wild Life Imaginable. A Drive Thru The Rain Forest With A Stop At The Domino Club To Decompress Is Also A Must! Its A Very Friendly Place. Judies Of St Croix For A Rental Car Is The Best Buy, They Will Pick You Up At The Airport And Take Good Care Of You. I Was There Dec Of '06 And Can't Wait To Go Back.

Have you considered Curacao?

Curacao has great diving and at least one casino (if not more). My family stayed at Breezes Curacao last year. There is a casino right on the property and one shore dive per day is free as part of your amenities.

Ocean Encounters run boat dives from the pier at Breezes Curacao and the Dive Bus runs guided shore dives and is located right next door to Breezes Curacao.

There are also pure dive resorts on Curacao also such as Habitat Curacao and others.

I enjoy diving Grand Bahama each year :D There is a casino in Port Lucaya. Also lots of bars and shops.

We stay at Ocean Reef Yacht Cub and Resort. It's a couple of miles from Port Lucaya. The bus takes us there for $1.

We Dive with Grand Bahama Scuba. They are on site at the resort. It's great to be able to take a short walk from our room each morning to the dive boat!! :14:

Allegro on Provo (T&C) no longer exists. FYI. Thanks for the other info.
