Hi

I'm fideling with the idea of making a couple halogen lights for UW foto/video.

Is there anybody out there that have drawings of a testtube slug, the good old classic Halcyon, that fits the goodmanhandle from Halcyon, Agir, Salvo .....

walamp.com (Welch Allen) has tons of catalogued information about every bulb they sell, including dimensioned drawings. Great prices too.

Buy the book from Airspeed. http://www.airspeedpress.com

They've got complete dimensions in there suitable for machining, plus a lot of good information.

Honestly, these days, I wouldn't bother with a halogen - the color correction, while easy to do post processing, is unnecessary since there are more reliable daylight temperature lights (HID, LED) that are both brighter and cooler running.

The airspeed book is great. As stated above, go with LED or HID. Both offer better efficiency, higher color temp and are cooler running. The book was my jumping off point for building LED canister lights. Working on the second one, for my wife. Next project is a LED ring light for macro work.
