Hi All:

A plea for assistance:

Outerbanks Dive Center in Nags Head is trying to run their boat this weekend to the U-85 (100 FT) and the USCG Bedlow (130 to 150 FT) on Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th. I'm signed up for Sunday but we still need 3 more divers to make the trip. Both of these dives are awesome.

Saturday on the U-85 is what they really need help with. About 2 weeks ago, they had a history professor from Brazil begin his vacation here. He's a expert o German U-Boats and has aspired to dive on one all his life. They've been trying to get him out on a dive for the last 2 weeks, but because of bad weather and lack of interest, it hasn't happened. He's heading back to Brazil on Monday.

Although it's iffy, I think the weather will break for Saturday. If you call and agree to make the dive, I think they might give you a "special" price.

Call 'em at (252) 449-8349

THANKS!

I am still working on being able to make Sundays dive, but it will depend on you providing me with some transportation help. My truck will be gone by the weekend & the 2 Mustangs make terrible dive vehicles. Especially with doubles. I might even need help getting to the shop to get them filled. Man do I feel pathetic.
Can't help with Saturday, getting my hair cut for the upcoming trip across the pond.

Did I just read that you CAN'T go diving because you're getting your HAIR CUT? Man, don't say that on the Deco Stop. They might stop by your house and beat you up!

Another reason why I'm NOT married.... :lotsalove:

:D:D:D

What he said! I was thinking the same thing.

Last time I checked there are places to get your hair cut on the outer banks. I am headed down tomorrow and wasnt planning on taking dive gear, but if the boss agrees I may take it for the U-85. When I dove it in August vis was 2 feet so I would like to see more of it, I did see a big turtle hanging out on the bow which was cool. Anyway if the boss gives me the go ahead for the dive I'll pitch in 10 bucks for Rad to get his hair cut on the outer banks so he can join us.

Man I would love to go out with OBX Dive Center one more time. The Outer Banks is a 6.5 hour haul for me. Kelly and I dove the Zane Grey with them in July and had a blast. I am going to be at MACNA (Marine Aquarium Convention of North America) on Fri, Sat and Sun otherwise I'd try to jimmy it into my schedule.

OK, I might be able to work this out. How many do they need for Saturday? I cannot make Sunday work.

Let me see what I can do to my weekend schedule.

I hate this board!!!! :D

You're freakin' killin me'! I'll be in NC then, but down in Jacksonville working. Believe me, every possible scenario I could think of that would allow me to come up and do the Bedloe dive just shot through my head, but I came up with nothing.

Say hi to the crew for me!

OK so maybe letting in on the haircut might have been a bit BOLD for this forum, but sometimes life happens & if I have to miss a dive to keep my wife happy on our 10 day trip to Italy, which will include some diving in the Med. by the way. Then thats what I will do.
But it was not a real choice after all as I would only be able to dive 1 day or the other & there really isn't much of a choice between the Bedloe & the U-85, at least for me.
But all is for naught as the Sunday trip to the Bedloe was called due to lack of interest, Andy & I were the only 2 divers to make the commitment so we jumped on Dive Quarters trip to the Powell, a far cry from what we had planned, but we will survive.
