Need cave divers opinions

I got a buddy who uses something like this for shallow beach dives...

you say ya want come up with a cave Idea. Well maybe you can build air line system that goes through the cave with a reg hooked up, and even trans whip stations. That way you only need the triple 30, and you can fill and breathe all along the line. now you have to maintain it, a fee, you have to run continuous storage and air, a fee, and teach how to work it underwater, a fee. plus you tell the land owners no more deaths from your safety.

Now cave divers can go deeper and make new extreme dive kits, plus make money setting new air line. Every one wins.

I hope you don't want to blast me for this response.
You are looking for the answer to a problem that doesn't exist.
What you propose to solve the back-up issue is a lawsuit looking for a victim.
Generally speaking, cave divers try to simplify their rigs to eliminate exaggerated task loading.
As for purposes for side mounting, they could be to access smaller areas, or some dive the configuration for it's flexibility.
Your design seems to work against these purposes.
As well, so far you have had responses from people whose opinions are quite highly regarded in the Florida cave diving community.

That is vintage gear, it is part of an old Calypso Pack, or USD-1, sometimes seen with a yellow plastic fairing and sometimes with an integrated BC. It is, in fact, a very comfortable package, well ballanced and rather low profile. But it is not acceptable cave gear, at least as I understand it.

I did have an idea like that though it was for a different use. I was thinking low pressure hose with a quick connects not high pressure hose to refill tanks as you go. There might be a use for it in an emergency. If the hose is the guide line and there is a connection every 50 or 100 feet a diver out of air would have that option. There would then need to be some way to signal the surface so someone can know your location and come down and get you out.

A single cylinder is smaller and holds nearly, the same, or more gas(depending on cylinder) without being so damned cumbersome.



You're looking for a use with a convoluted mess.

The only use I can think of for it in cave diving is as an example of something that should never be used for cave diving.
