I'm looking at buying my own setup and I think I am going to go with a Zeagle BP/W setup. The dive shop I used for my classes will sell me one for the same price as a Zeagle Stilleto. After using a back inflate and a jacket style and not really feeling secured properly in one, I think this is a better way to go.

My question is regarding the lift bladders. I notice that the ALl Elastic bladder from Zeagle is not much less than the Manta Wing. I didn't know if someone could let me know what the build quality was on the Manta VS the All Elastic and what the dump valve situation is like on them. Is there extra pressure releases, or only able to use the power inflator or what the deal is. Can't find too much about the bladders online.

Also, what do most of you do for weights. Weight belt or should I look into getting the quick release weight pouches that Zeagle offers for the BP/W that has the ripcord system?

I just bought a zeagle BP with deluxe harness. I decided to go with the Ziptouch weight and not the pockets with ripcord. the pockets with ripcor seemed a little to big and kind of defeated the purpose of BP for me.

I went with Dive-rite venture wing. like the donut shape a little more than the U shape of the zeagle wing but thats my personal preference. I have seen the xeagle wing and its a solid wing.

I have a Zeagle plate with a Ranger wing & deluxe harness. I use their ripcord IW system & like it.

I have no way to compare it to the 2 wings you mention as I've never used them.

No I haven't. I'm saving so that I can buy a full set of gear at one time.

If your going to be diving in cold water/ dry suit etc. ( meaning alot of added weight) you might want to consider a weight vest. DUI makes 2 versions, there may be other companies, the weight is ditchable, and your trim is adjustable depending on how tight or loose you have the shoulder straps.

Nismo,

Sorry our website needs some updating, especially about BP&Ws.

All our wings have the 11" holes style of mounting now, as shown on the Manta wing. The All elastic is much sleeker.

We have a 44 lb donut bladder too. Or the 24 lb, 35 lb or 44 lb Stiletto bladders are available for BPs.

I tried to attach a pic or two, but SB won't take mine anymore.

I am currently using a Zeagle BP. I have a measly 30 dives on mine so far. I have dove, a Ranger, Manta, and All-Elastic wing on it to date. The build quality is fine on all and will certainly last. Now, the Manta is a 50lb wing for diving doubles. You do not want to be using it for a diving a single tank. The all elastic is in deed a sleek wing for diving singles.

Chad ... is the all elastic being made with 11"" holes as well. I just asked Scott about putting in a pannel in mine.

I was under the impression the Manta Wing was good for singles as well. If no, then I will stick to the basic package for now.

A common is conception is that a doubles wing can be used for singles. It really can not. The reason is the width of the wing to accomodates doubles means that it will "taco" for singles. This will cause gas to be trapped, add extra drag, etc. The old saying is that get the right wing for the right dive.

If you are planning on diving singles for now then once you figure out the amount of lift you need you can get the correct wing. For instance, the All-elastic has 34# whereas Zeagle's doughnut has 44#.
