Hi All,

We are two pax. We want to do a LOB in komodo. a short one, 4-3nights. First time to do it. We arent very experienced divers.. maybe 50-70 immersions. Our idea is to start in labuan bajo. Want to combine the LOB with a land base accom.

We Will be staying at Komodo resort in Komodthe rest of the time. We don't need to go and see Komodo drago during the LoB, as we will do that the last day we are in the area.

The idea is to go to further sites with the LOB an once based in Komodo Resort, so we can go to closer sites from the resort.

is this doable? would there be any flexibility from an LOB to drop us at komodo resort? Most LOB are longer...

1. Starting on Oct 4. if this day we would be in lombok, we can fly morning to Labuan Bajo. arrive by noon.

2. Starting on Sep 27. if starting this day we would be flying to Labuan Bajo on the 27 from DPS. arrive by noon

I have seen this dates are around NEW MOON, Would we have very diving conditions? i have heard Komodo can have rough oceans.... We were in Palau last January, currents were better than expected.

Budget would be mid one, can anyone help me out with this? .. Any advice is welcome!

Thanks!

The Felicia should suit your needs. It runs liveaboard trips from 1-5 nights from Labuan Bajo. They pick you up and return you to your hotel, but not 100% sure about pick ups from Komodo Resort. Yes currents can be strong around the new moon in Komodo but the guides have plenty of experience and if you stick close, you will be fine.

thank you OnTheSpot, I will check it out. I saw Moana too.. Any opinions on that?

we just back from Komodo 3 weeks ago - with SMY mangguana for 5D/4N. The boat is always moving and parking in the park. You can choose how long you will stay with them. They will send you a small boat (no canopy) to pick and drop you to Labuan Bajo. I think they can pick-up or drop you from Komodo resort. She has 4 AC cabin for 8 divers, with 2 DM available.

I agree with Matts1w. Wicked Diving is a brilliant company. The liveaboard trips are great. Crew is total awesome. I could spend months on the Jaya sailing around south east asia diving/snorkelling.

Yep Moana is another decent choice for a short trip but a bit more rigid with the schedule, so might not fit in so well with your plans. A trip report on both below, a bit old but worth a read if your considering them.
